Santorini is a quite small island and is distances are easily drivable. Most wedding venues are on the side overlooking the sunset. Usually hotels on this side are more expensive than the beach side of the island. The vast majority of couples choose the beach side of the island because places like Kamari and Perissa offer amenities like restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs etc at a walking distance and you don’t have to hire a car to drive to the beach.

Why not two places?

Many couples choose to stay themselves at a hotel on the sunset side while their guests stay on the beach side. Another very popular option is for the couple to stay, for the days prior to their wedding, on a beach side hotel and move the day before the wedding and the next days, to a hotel overlooking the sunset for a mini honeymoon.
